This Expedition is my first SUV and it sure won't be my last. Young drivers in "ricers" cause more of a safety problem than SUV drivers.
The other month when I was t-boned by a mini van, if I was driving a car I wouldn't be here right now. That's one of the major reasons why I own a SUV, other than the fact that I use it off road, on the beach, in the snow, and tow. My family of 4 owns 4 SUVs and 2 sports cars. We wouldn't trade the SUVs for anything.

Well, I don't mean to offend anyone by this comment because it may sound a little selfish, however, when I purchase a vehicle, I am thinking of my safety as well as that of my family, not other drivers. In saying that, when one of these smaller cars pulls out in front of me, I want to be able to knock the h*** out of them in order to keep me and my family alive; I am sorry for the passengers in that car, but after all, it was there fault. Now I know that may sound bad but, when I'm driving in a busy city or town, I want the confidence of knowing that when a vehicle pulls out in front of me, I'm going to walk away, hopefully, depending on the situation. I know there are some bad SUV drivers out there that do in danger other people's lives with their driving, more so because they are driving an SUV, that's understandable. But for the very large pecentage of us who safely drive SUVs correctly, we're not hurting anyone accept for the careless ones who make the mistake of pulling into our path, and in that case, for them, well, you live and learn.
I don't think this should be in the Expedition forum. There is a seperate forum for political, and personal views. If you have no helpful input, or a question for Expeditions, please post some where else.
What is your motivation in posting? Everybody here drives an SUV, do you think we're all going to trade them in for a Prius because a link to somebody's book report.
SUV's are built on truck chasis. How come you don't bash trucks which have been around longer than the current SUV boom. In fact the best selling vehicles have been trucks for a long time. The have the same 'rigid' features and use the same tires as SUV's.
All cars and trucks have shortcomings. Get over it.
I bothered to read the whole think. A bit of mis-information and a bit one sided. But this is what I love about America, I can chose to burn gas and haul a$$.
