How do I remove the ragjoint on my '77 4x4. It was worn out, tried moving it around the yard w/o the engine running so no power steering and the old one didnt like turning 33s and ripped.
it has 2 bolts and nuts that go all the way thru it. they are 180 degrees apart. it helps to jack one wheel up when changing it, makes the wheels a lot easier to turn.
just remove the 2 bolts and push the steering shaft up a little, the rag joint has 2 pins that align in the lower flange. these pins are different sizes, that should keep the steering wheel straight when you install it.
