I need help, my hubby is deployed overseas and I got truck problems. LOL. Okay, we have been getting CEL for a while on the truck, and the other day the fuel gauge and temp gauge decided they were not going to work. The oil pressure and batt gauges are fine though.
Now, I took the truck to Auto Zone and got these codes:
182 (M) Fuel system was rich at idle Single, Right or Rear HO2S - Fuel control
186 (M) Injector pulse width longer than expected or Mass Air Flow (MAF) lower than expected - Fuel control
187 Injector pulse width shorter than expected or Mass Air Flow (MAF) higher than expected - Fuel control
What should I do bout these to get the gauges to work and the CEL to stop? Help please. Thanks.
A relatively common problem is having a dirty MAF sensor. Try cleaning it and then resetting (unplugging) the computer and see if that does any good.
Did you get all three codes at one time or on three separate occasions?
Not sure about the gauges. Best bet would be to get your hands on a schematic and see what those two gauges have in common (i.e., same ground or same power source, etc.).
