78 ford 351m manual tranny/to 351w block
I've recently bought a 78 ford ranger that came with a 351m. the truck had no engine when I bought it but I have a 351w I'd like to install is there an adaptor or can I change the bell housing to fit the 351w block & do does anyone know if theres a problem with the engine swap other than changing motor mounts?

I think you need to list this in the "73-79 ford truck" section.This section deals with the "new Ranger" not the original.But from experiance with old mustangs I think you should be able to change the bell housing and bolt it up.The 351 M is the same basic block as the 400 they put in LTDs etc.If memory serves me correctly.So a bell housing that fits a 400 should fit a 351M.
