can it be done?? i got a set of cleavland 2 barrel heads just sittin here and my truck is parked right now and it has a windsor in it so if it can be done this is the perfect time
Yes I think it can be done using the retro fit kit that they use to put those
heads on 302s that were not bosses , I think you have to tap and plug some
holes in the heads or the block and it will require a B&A intake, I think that is
who makes them. Also i think that the water outlet has to come out of the front of each head.
To use the cleveland heads you would need to do the following:
weld in a block off plate on the coolant passages of the cleveland heads
drill new coolant passages that are through the side of the head that go into the intake (windsor style)
find and purchase an intake manifold specifically for this conversion
from what I can tell doing this to a 351w you need special pistons
probably something I forgot. If that sounds cost effective vs. purchasing good used condition aftermarket heads that flow just as good or better, then go for it. Would be cool to say you have a clevor
Here is a link which you can compare your 351c 2V heads vs. other factory and aftermarket designs, so you can get an idea on paper whether or not the conversion is worth the effort to you. Good luck
