Fuel Conditioner

I am looking for a recommendation for fuel conditioner for my 2000 PSD. My truck gets very poor mileage, 11 to 12 mpg around town. I hoped that a conditioner would enhance the MPG of the vehicle. Any product recommendations as always, are appreciated.

Thanks, Jeff

Hey Jeff,

Is your engine lacking power too? If so, you may have a deeper problem than fuel quality. Start with the basics, air and fuel supply. If those check ok, try a conditioner. Make sure the conditioner isn't strictly an anti-gel product since these will be very common this time of year. Racor, PowerService, Pro-Long are a few brand names.

Try Stanadyne Performance Formula, developed by the maker of all Ford (pre-Power Stroke) and GM injection pumps going back 15 years or more. It increases fuel cetane rating (power), inhibits gelling, disperses water, and most important, cleans and lubricates the injection system. My mileage increased more than enough to pay for the additive. A years supply (26,000 miles for me) runs about $85.00 plus $10.50 postage from Diesel Injection Service in Lubbock, TX;

Hey guys thanks for the recommendations on the fuel conditioner !! As for the questions on lack of power my truck has "***** of Power", it’s a 258" 4 wheel drive Ferrari. It can even break the tires loose on dry pavement. If I baby it around town I can get 12.5 to 13.5 mpg, if I have some fun I drop to 11 to 12 mpg I choose “FUN” . Thanks again guys…… Jeff…OUT:7
