Hello friends
Im in the process of painting my 47 ford truck, and this is a VERY good and interesting newsgroup,it has helped me out alot so far.
Well here is my question,up by the top of my truck is a seam that runs the width from side to side, and some of the sealent has come out ,and I want to know what I can put back in between that small gap???????
I'm not familar with that truck or where you are talking but it may be seam sealer. It comes in different forms. There is brushable, different consistancys, and also comes in a caulking tube. Also after your put it on, you can wet your finger go over if you want to smooth it out, or put a little thinner in a spray bottle and spray it on, then go over it with your finger. Maybe someone in the older truck section will no where you are talking about.

I'm not familar with the seam either but Ken gave some great advice. The modern seam sealers remain flexible and seal great. Just remember to dig out as much old sealant as you can. It's probably not doing a whole lot of good and you wouldn't want it to break loose, after you apply your new paint.
Im using 3M fast and firm (avail at most auto body supply stores) and its like $9 a tube. its in a caulking tube and you just apply it like caulk and then you can just smeer it in with your finger and sand it after it dries
