Well, I replaced my filter two months ago after only 100k miles. I actually drained the water as well. Now, I have a leak from the water seperator line that comes and goes in intensity. The fuel is definately leaking out of the valve for the water seperator, and out the fitting. Sometimes it drips, and other times it leaks pretty good. Whats the fix for this?
Did that today, and forgot to re-fill the bowl. Killed the battery in the process. Didn't fix the leak however.
That's a bit confusing. The 2000 model in your sig has an electric fuel pump, and does not need to be primed. All it takes is cycle the key once or twice for about 20 seconds each and the bowl will be full.
There is an o-ring kit available for the seperator drain. I'll see if I can track the part # down.
I drained it down opening and closing the valve, and then screwed the cover back on, and tried to restart it without refilling the bowl the first time. Sitting in the truck, listening to it drain down the batteries, got me to thinking about another post on the subject. It was then I realized that I didn't let the bowl fill before installing the cover, so I did that, charged the battery, and it cranked over first turn. If you could get me that kit number, I'd really appreciate it Cookie. Your advice and help once again is greatly appreciated.
Haven't found the Ford kit, but if you go to Lowes or Home Depot (wherever) get #90 o-rings, size 1/2, 1/4, and 1/8. Should be around a quarter apiece.
