i have a 1983 f150 with the VV carb and was wondering where the adjustment screw is for setting richness/leaning it out ? i know theres 2 screws at the top of the carb left side(while looking from the front) but am at a loss as to wich one it is.
any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advnace.
i think you have the motorcraft model 2150 carb. if that is what you got then there are only 2 mixture screws, they only control the idle mixture. they are at the bottom front of the carb. i have no idea what screws you are talking about.
84-250,
thanks for the reply, i have the VV 7200 carb with the TPS if that helps any ? i wish holly was still making the replacement for these but they dont anymore so i have to live with this rebuilt i just bought. its running on the rich side and i need to get it set right.
do you have the TFI ignition and ECC-IV? you said you have a TPS so i think your carb is a "feedback" carb which the computer control the off-idle mixture. all you can change is the idle mixture, idle speed, and fast idle speed. thats if you have the TFI and ECC-IV. if you have those then you have the 2150 carb. cause i never heard of a 7200 carb b4. if you dont have the TFI and ECC-IV then you have the duraspark 2 or 3 ignition and have a regular carb.
84-250.again thanks,
well everyone ive called about getting a replacement for this carb has said i have either the 2700 or the 7200. the numbers on the carb are E3TEBVA and 2A 3D 19 also on the engine compartments placard it says ignition timing, idle mixture and choke not adjustable. this is the california version of this truck. any ideas what i have ?? thanks again.
bassman
