Clunk In my Front End...Please Help...

Hello guys, having a problem here...I have a 99 expo. When I drive the truck, only after a few minutes of driving, when I come to a completel stop and proceede to take how i can feel a little bit of a slight "clunkin" noise when i take of. It does it once in a while. Sometimes, it will not do it, and sometimes it will do it all day. I have not changed any fluids yet but plan on it. Also if i put the truck in 4H it will not do it at all, once I swicth out of 4H it won't do it, then after a while a driving it will do it. I was hoping it may be the fluids that need to be changed. Has anyone else had this problem, and solutions would be extremely helpful. I also looked at my trasnfer case and it looks to me like it has been replaced before.

Yikes, sounds like the tranny for sure. Does it feel like it is slipping between gear shifts? Have you checked your tranny fluid level?

no the tranny does not slip at all, it rides really smooth, it does not do it a lot, but the problem will go away when i switch into 4h, and then when i turn it off it goes away, but i am thinkin a fluid change may be a start, cause in the morning when i first drive the morning it does not do it, olny when the truck gets warmed up.

It almost sounds like you have some bushings that have gone bad. Check them all out, and replace if they look worn, or rotten.
