I came across a '47 hot rod project that I'm interested in. The Question I have; does anyone make parts for that year? Everywhere I seem to look they all start at '48 and up. Somebody has to make something for this year, but who? Looking mainly for replacement bodytrim and things like grilles. Any help would be much appreciated.
Just about anything you could need for one of these trucks is available. Arizona has very few places to get older stuff(at least here in the Phoenix area)...mostly '48 and up. Try places like Mac's Antique Auto in Ny http://www.macsautoparts or CW Moss in Orange, Ca http://www.cwmoss.com. The hood die cast pieces and side spears are not being reproduced at this time...but they can be found on eBay for fairly decent prices...I've boughten nice sets for as low as $2.99,,,but that was a real good deal. The grille bars are available at most places.
If you are working on a 47 then you need to get the book from Early Ford. Just make sure you tell the guy you need a book for a 47 truck. Reason being they have a book with some parts in it for 47's but it is mostly for 48 and up. After 2 times ordering the book we got the right one. WWW.earlyford.com They will hook you up.
I have a 1947, and I just got my chrome back from the shop and the hood side spears turned out great but the strip down the center of the hood was to far gone. Do you guys no if this piece is being reproduced?
