Has anyone taken their power nothing Ranger and installed factory power windows and locks? And possibly power mirrors?
I've put up with hand crank windows for over 2 years now, and it's getting old. I figure if I can get power windows, I might as well get power locks, too. I have an alarm, and I can get it programmed to work with power locks if I got that remote unlock module.
I'm not too worried about the power mirrors, but if I find some for cheap, I just might get them.
What I want to know is, once I have the lock actuators and crank motors, are they a "plug and play" or do I have to do some wiring? More accurately, does Ford build Rangers with pre-routed wiring to save on build costs, or do they wire them as they go?
I know I would need the control switches, (because I'd be upgrading my door panels anyway). And possibly the power relays. But if the wiring is already there, I would probably be installing "power everything" within the next month.
I did a search already, couldn't find any answers to my questions.
I've never looked for the wiring on my "power nothing" B3000. But based on my foglight experience (all the wiring was there harnesses and switch connector), I wouldn't doubt that Ford put it in. I have thought that power windows would be nice, but I figured I'd need a truck with power windows to cannabalize to do it.
