I think it's funny. Same thing I've been doing for years.

That recycle bin is to put in the back of you car or truck to use for storage of stuff you don't want to slide around. Thats all I use it for. Trash can is for everything that fits in it. If it don't fit I make it fit.

I recycle newspapers and plastic bags/bottles myself.
I'm glad I don't live in the nearby town limits though. They charge $40/month mandatory recycling fees and the trucks rarely show up, if at all. Those blue recycle bins at the curb get picked up and emptied in the trash truck by the regular garbage crew. So I would essentially be paying twice for the same service. No thanks, I'm not an idiot.
...And we wouldn't have a landfill problem if you Jerseyites would quit sending us your garbage....;-)

That's a good idea. I usually use mine to reach items in the garage rafters . . . makes a great step stool when turned upside down.

I don't like the idea of making someone else money with my recycling . . . same reason I'm not an organ donor.

living on an airforce base, recycling it "mandatory".

thats not why we do i though. i dont feel like i'm saving the planet just because i recycle stuff.... my wife is the real tree hugger in the family. she will try and recycle everything....and thats no joke.... EVERYTHING.

my motto to savin the planet: save a tree, eat a beaver
