Angry Power to Aux fuel tank switch and Passerger brake light

I have been trouble shooting a couple issues that I need some help with please on my 75 ford F 150.

First is the fuel tank selector. The fuel selector won't switch from the main tank to the aux tank so the first thing I replaced was the solenoid. That didn't fix the problem so I re-tested the power to the solenoid and while the switch is in the aux position it is only receiving .55volts. The packaging on the solenoid says it requires 12 volts to the solenoid sector so I jumped the brown and white wire at the firewall with 12 volts and solenoid selector worked fine. My question is....What should the voltage measurement be at the solenoid selector in the aux position? Any ideas on a fix other than hard wiring in a new panel switch? Did I blow an in-line fuse somewhere?

The next electrical problem is my passenger side brake light just stopped working. I changed the light bulb of course....The running lights work, turn signal works and I cleaned the contacts in the socket. Volt Meter says that I am not getting power to the brake contact on the tail light socket but I don't see any frayed wires.

Thanks

If you have one hot wire to the solenoid, and the only other wire is the ground, then one tank position will have 12 volts, the other tank position will be 0 volts. Whether the front tank takes 12 volts, or the rear tank takes 12 volts, depends on how you hook the fuel lines up.

The passenger side brake light does not work. But the passenger side rear turnsignal works? Double check this. If this is true, then your turnsignal switch has a problem.

Aux tank voltage

Great...
I will check the turn signal wiring harness. Like I said the turn signal works fine.

Now that I know I should be getting a full 12volts to the solenoid I need to find out why I only currently have .55 volts. I have already checked the wire from the firewall to the solenoid for shorts. Could it be a blown in-line fuse somewhere?
Thanks for your help

Make sure you check for voltage at the solenoid with the selector switch in both positions.

No volts when switch is on main tank. Only .55 volts when switch is on aux.

Make note of the color of the wire at the solenoid. Pull the selector switch out of the dash, and hopefully you can find that same color wire. See if you have 12 volts up there coming out of the switch, and also feeding the switch. You will also have some wires that switch the sending units on the same switch, so don't get them confused.
