I have a 99.5 F350 7.3lt 4x4 cc dually. For a long time now the door a jar message shows making the interior lights stay on when stopped or at low speeds. Well, at night this is very distracting. Its hard to see to back up with interior lights on. Its fun trying to check first calf heifers when you can't see out off the truck for the glare and weather doesn't always cooperate to drive around with the windows down. Then the last straw, we had someone poaching (spotlighting deer, which is illegal) this evening. Its hard to try and sit unnoticed trying to catch them when they come back around to look for the deer they shot at (what great sportsmen) when your interior lights stay on!!! Plus you can't really see whats going on around you even if you do get close. Not a comfortable feeling when dealing with someone caring a gun.
Anyway, is there a sequence of turning the key on and depressing the brake pedal while patting your stomach and rubbing the top of your head to override the trucks sensor??? Or where can I look for the problem at? Thanks, Luke
try the search button. I recall seeing some posts on that particular problem and it came out to be the door "pin" switch sticking and needing lubrication. try the search, ou might be overwhelmed with subjects
Seems most of the newer vehicles don't have the pin switch anymore, but have some sort of switch up in the latch mechanism. People have been shooting wd40 up in the latch, and it has been fixing the sticking switch problems. See if your truck has the newer style latch switches.
Thanks for the info. I have tried spraying WD40 on the latch receiver area thinking this is where the sensor had to be, but it had no effect.
I might try shooting the air compressor into it to break loose any build up. If that doesn't work maybe I'll try and spray into it with the pressure washer wand. How much you want to bet I make a mess doing that?
Thanks, Luke
