Big Three and military production

Just curious and looking for some information about how much GM, Ford, and Chrysler were involved in the US military and are currently involved. I know GM is virtually involved in everything and always has been. Chrysler had the Redstone rocket program and was involved with the Saturn rockets I believe. They also ran the Detroit Arsenal which built the Patton tanks among other equipment. I'm not sure what Ford was involved with, but I guess you guys can fill me in on that. Just thought it would make an interesting friendly discussion, not anything competitive, just how each company helped out during war-time situations.

I see all three. There seems to be fewer dodges but the ford and chevy seem pretty even. My shop has two S-10s and a brand new explorer. We stopped using 2500 RAM (Cummins) bobtails for towing age equipment and went with the Ford. I think the massive amounts of trans failures made the decision final. Bobtails are trucks with the wheelbases of escorts and probably have 6.00:1 rears. The dodges top out at around 40MPH redlined in 3rd. I heard the fords will do about 60MPH as they are geared a little higher. They tow very heavy equipment around the flightline.

Ford made Jeeps in WW2 and airplanes in WW1. Ford made tractors from about the end of WW1 to about 5 years ago, then sold the Ford/New Holland tractor line to Case IH.
