Maybe my Math isn’t good, but this doesn’t make any sense to me. I changed the Oil December 21, 2025. Mileage was 56,548. Today my Mileage is 58,501. Which is 1,953 Traveled Miles. I took a trip, the Start was 56,548 miles End 58,501 miles Trip Miles 1,953. My Oil Life was 58% When I Left, Now 53% Maximum Oil life of 7,500 times 5% is 375 Miles. Why the discrepancy?
Edit 2017 F-150 5.0 Engine. I haven’t towed anything with the Truck, since last oil change. I told someone else about this, and they said the Mileage hasn’t caught up with the yearly time. Don’t know if that explains it.

1. 56,548 miles oil was changed, truck was not moved significantly until trip was started, oil life monitor was not zeroed and remained at 58%, and this was December 21, 2025
2. Between then and now, you took a trip of 1,993 miles
3. Oil life monitor says the oil got 5% worse, while 5% of 7,500 miles is 375 miles, not 1,993 miles
4. Sup wit dat?
. . . right?
Quick answer: The oil life monitor isn't just a counter that sets a light at 7,500 miles. It is also looking at all of the driving conditions etc. along the way. I suspect that your 1,993 miles was mostly highway miles, and based on this, your computer would count down the mileage more slowly
