03 F-150 7700 speedometor change and ECM reprogram
I have a 03 F-150 XL 4X4 7700 I rebuild the engine about 30k ago. the speedometer would jump from 50 miles to 80 and do so at lower speeds. after I change the trans censor and differential censor it ran ok for a few days then it went back to not working.. After reading some of the post the suggestion was to replace the speedometer with a good one from a junk yard. I did and then had some one reprogram the key ECM and speedometer, after $200 for programing and $75 for the speedometer I have the same problem any more suggestions? other problems, engine not running smooth and I got codes that read bank 1 O2,2 running lean and bank 2 O2 2 running reach. and the ABS light is one ( it has been like that for some time). I did not use new injectors after the rebuild, but I dont think injectors will solve my problems. Help
You should give all of the code numbers, like P0174, etc. And if your scanner can do freeze frame, show what the freeze frame data shows. Lean codes that happen at low engine temperature and RPM often have a different cause than those at full temp and high RPM. Important clues.
Ok after doing a injector replacement and spark plug replacement the engine ran better, it still did not help the speedometer. did not think it would. the codes that i had before doing all the work pointed to bank 0n1 po172 bank one to rich and bank 1 o2 sensor 2 zero voltage at idle. before restarting the engine I cleared all the codes. after going for a short drive with the OBD II on life data everything look normal except for the fuel trim on bank 2, got po174 was not there before.
this is live data it colected
Short term Fuel trim Bank 1 Sensor 1 -2.3%
Oxygen sensor output voltage bank 1 Sensor 2 0.655V
Short term Fuel trim Bank 1 Sensor 2 99.2%
Oxygen sensor output Voltage Bank 2 Sensor 1 0.075V
Short term fuel trim Bank 2 sensor 1 0.0%
Oxygen sensor output Voltage Bank2 sensor 2 0.605V
I have replaced must of the vacuum lines if not all in the engine compartment and can find any leaks, bank one had the same problem and I replaced the exhaust gaskets and o2 sensors.
its a job I there not do any more because of my back problems. any suggestions
