Just looking for some extra security precautions...
If I go down to the 🇺🇲 with the truck and go to a mall/gym for a couple hours ...
I don't want to risk losing my truck.
It's old but still in great shape.
It's a 2000 4.6 V8 F150
Is it bad for the electrical system if I pull the fuel pump relay fuse before parking it ?
I mean, it's both costly/takes time to have a kill switch installed.
The club is useless ....unless I use a tire boot.??
I'm thinking just pull the fuse ...
What fuse number is it ?
Also the outside temperature digital display stopped working all of a sudden...
Is it a fuse or something else that burned out ?
Your truck (presumably) already has the PATS system. No one is going to start the engine without the pre-programmed key.
I suspect you're over-thinking this....But, since you asked, it's fuse F10 in the under hood fuse box.
So to be clear ...
It has the PATS system. I see the "Theft" light on the dash constantly blinking when vehicle is in park and engine turned off.
I don't use the remote keyless entry for it.
If I have only the key on me or better yet in a Faraday pouch, am I even better off(safety wise) ?
If I go down to the States and I'm in a gym for a couple hours or mall I don't want my truck getting stolen in the lot.
