I bought a spare wheel to complement my set of 4 from eBay. I didn't notice this in the pictures, but saw it after it arrived. Is this valve damaged? What is my recourse?
Just replace the valve stem. A two pack of valve stems cost less than $4 at your local Walmart (see link below). Of course they're also available at literally any auto parts store you choose to walk into as well. Valve stems are kinda disposable and should be changed anytime the tire is.

This is what I wanted to hear. Hopefully these Harley wheels don't need a specific valve stem like the lug nuts

No I changed out all of my stems on my 5 Harley Davidson rims last year after two years of collecting 7 of them to mount on my Ex. Three were refurbished and I selected the the best remaining Two to mount on the truck. I picked up a 5 pack of stems on Amazon and replaced them all myself, all you need is a ratchet and the proper size socket I assume you are using one for your spare which is what I did , I just used a no name brand tire on the spare and saved $200 bucks.

Thanks Vinny.
I bought a set of 4 that came with OK tires. Replaced them with new Nittos. Kept the best of those 4 to mount on the spare. Then found this one on eBay to run as a spare. It is a bit pitted and will stay as a spare for now until I have the funds to get it refinished. My mistake, but I did not look closely at the valve stem in the pictures when I placed the order. I was just a bit worried that like the special lug nuts that these wheels need, I'd have to go hunting for a special valve stem
Sometimes I read questions people post about items, and I think to myself " why are they asking a question that seems like common sense", , and then I realize lead paint in houses is a real issue in some countries, and ingestion of lead affects the cognitive ability of people to think and may result in delayed development.
What others have said, but don't put just any ole valve stem in there. The typical passenger car TR4?? series aren't up to par for these trucks given the tires on them are load range E, which has an 80psi for max. load. You should be putting a TR600HP series in there as they are a high pressure unit rated for the 80psi. You can order them off of Amazon like I did in bulk given I don't use anything else in all my vehicles and trailers...

Tire related crap is all safety regulated. So Ford would have to go through a lot of expense and effort to get a special valve stem approved, no company (not even the hyper exotics like Koenigsegg) do that, they just use the industry standard stuff.
Same goes for the lug nuts, I seriously doubt they are "special" in any meaningful way (maybe they have a decorative chrome cap or something, but I'd bet a lot of money the nut itself is just like hundreds of thousands of others).

Will remember this for the next time. Tire shop installed a generic valve stem for now. I'll watch the pressure.

Very true. It is a decorative cap that sits inbound of the fancy center cap that is another expense. It puts a dent in the wallet to replace. I've lost one and know well

No TPMS on this wheel as it is a spare. The other 4 wheels have

I know that all too well, lost one of mine and I was searching everywhere on the net for one and could not find one. By fate I ran into two of them at a flea market for $20 bucks so now I have a spare
