I added turn signals to my 49 F1 last year. For some reason I was never able to get the indicator light on the signal switch to work. I have made sure that everything is grounded. Has anyone else had this problem ? If so how did you correct it? Thanks in advance for your input
If I recall properly, you have a 7 wire setup of this nature:
Make sure you have 6V components if 6V and 12V if 12V. This includes the 3 prong flasher unit and the lamps (including the one in the stalk!). Also, as it calls out, you need to have a great ground to the stalk.

Everything is hooked up as per your diagram. I will recheck the ground on the colum. Once again thank you for your advice
i had an issue with my column mounted turn signal, Chieftan I believe, everything was working fine, then one day the indicator light quit working, a couple of days later a fuse blew. I lost all indicator lights. I traced it back to the turn signal switch, the wire going to the indicator socket had come loose and grounded causing the fuse to blow.

Okay thank you for that input. When i get the truck back from winter storage at the end of the month I have a list of things that I want to finish up.
And by the way, thank you for your service to this country
