2005 Ford Ranger 4.0L Auto, Fx4 Off-road Addition. Got this truck a few weeks ago. When I drove it home, it had a nasty vibration ONLY when you let off the gas, 50+MPH. Got truck home, replaced rear U-Joints, and the vibration is a lot better, but there is still a small vibration at 55-60 MPH (wasn't able to get any faster on my local roads) again ONLY when you let off gas.
My next step is to remove the front drive shaft and see if it goes away after that, I'm really hoping that's it, I have U-Joints to rebuild it. Also read some people having issues with their slip-joint, but it didn't seem to be the same symptoms as mine. Wondering what else I should look for, trans mounts, engine mount, wheel bearing maybe? Im getting a little paranoid because the diff has a leak, which I plan on fixing ASAP, but I'm worried the previous owner ran it dry and a diff bearing is cooked. Gonna check for play in diff tomorrow.
Anyone have a vibration only letting off the gas, over 55 MPH?
