Anyone got some good recommendations for these? Running 35's. Just thinking ahead for the next snowpocalypse. I haven't had problems without them but its better to get them while its fresh on my mind.
As someone who lives in MN, we get more snow than many and I've never used chains on anything other than tractors or snow plowing on gravel driveways and roads. Im thinking it would be something you'd would use once every 20 years...
Agreed, but I'm originally from Canada and spent much time in Northern Ontario. The hills and roads are not flat there, and like Tennessee, it's a different ball game in ice and snow in the hills and mountains.
Yes it's rare here, but I just like to be prepared. I've yanked people out of bad spots a number of times, and don't like to be one of them.
I'd guess any ole set of chains for your tire size would be better than nothing.
Many do not understand that southern states do not have plows/ snow removal equipment like the northern states/ states that have normal winters. It may not snow often but it's bad when it does and the smaller towns don't typically have much/ any equipment.
I do not remember what yr it was but within the last 7yrs or so iirc...I traveled through Kentucky and they got 15" or better overnight. They normally do not get snow and very little if they do. it was a very rare storm. People were stranded all over the place because there were no plows.
I can see the concern to try and be prepared just in case.

seems that was the storm I ran through coming back from Canada and yanked one out of a ditch with my Grand Cherokee in Southern Kentucky. You're exactly right the South is not prepared like up north.
