I finished rebuilding my 73' C6 auto transmission only to find out I had zero endplay. I removed the selective washer on the pump just to test and then was getting a reading .035. Clearly something is wrong, but I can't figure it out. I took it all apart 3 times making sure everything was seated, but still keep getting the same issue.
Here are the details...
The only things that I replaced on the rebuild were: - New thrust washers (all measured the same thickness) - New steels and frictions (all measured proper clearance to snap rings) - New bushings - New transmission case (swapped my 73' case for a 74' due to cracks) - Swapped out the sunshell because it was cracked. - Used a new E40D roller sprag instead of the stock one.
I would love any thoughts on where I may have lost some clearance. Or common issues? I made sure all the thrust washers were in the correct spots as well.
