Second question for the night.....2016 Super Duty console in 2005 EX Center Console
So as part of my overall updating to my '05 EX, I have replaced the factory console with a console from a 2016 F250. Two questions for the group....
1) does anyone have a source for the wiring harness from the 2016 Super Duty to the center console. I would rather splice in the existing 2005 harness to a short section of the harness from the super duty and plug it directly in to the new console. I am sure I could go and wander around in an LKQ yard and find one but figured i would ask here first.
2) the 2016 console has the built in 12v DC to 120v AC inverter. I know its only 400w but thats all i would really ever need. Power up a laptop.....I have seen several discussions on the web about how the inverter requires some connectivity to the CANBUS to keep it running longer than 5 minutes and that at least one person offered a service to gut them and install a new inverter while keeping the factory wiring configuration so that its still plug and play. I did message the facebook page for the person but no response so guessing they no longer offer to convert them. I am pretty good at electrical work and wonder if anyone has the wiring (connector pinouts) from the 2016 wiring harness that I can do it myself. I would prefer the OEM mounting location using the original form factor.
