Good morning Vermonters, welcome to the New Year! Sorry I haven't been around much, just to get on FTE as much as I used to. Here's wishing you guys a great 2026!

Happy New Year Pat! Sounds like your resolution should be to post more on FTE
Wonderous Weekend Eve Vermont, Jim, Shawn, Pat and all the Woodchucks. It is a gray overcast day in my WV woods but did go from 31° to 37° and no fear of Iguanas falling on our heads. Might get ran over by a deer or two. They have been running and playing in the lot next door and our yard now that the weather has cooled off. Been having a really nice 6 point coming back in and grazing in the lot.
Good weekend morning woodchucks. Rod, shoot that 6 pointer and I'll swing by on my way home and pick it up. Make up for my busted deer season at home.
Good to see you Pat. Hope you swing by a bit more often. Get lonely here with just Jim and me most days!
Have a great weekend. Starting to pack up to head back to the land of ice and snow. Forecast looks reasonable for a departure from here Wednesday. That puts us home on the weekend depending on the weather and travel conditions.
Shawn, you must be having fun with all the driving you are doing.......
Toward the end of September I towed the Montana 5th wheel to Heartland Texas, with Lynn following in her car.
Lynn is the advance patrol for are move to Texas. She is living in the RV at a long-term RV park near her daughter and Grandkids and Great-Grandkids.
I am in Montana getting the house ready to sell and Theresa is staying here while she does her first year of college online.
Made another trip to Texas and back in December to visit my bride.... 1600 miles each way.

Roy, I know all about driving. 1600 miles for us from where we are in Florida to Vermont. Headed back to the land of ice and snow next week to take care of youngest daughter after her back surgery. She can't lift more than 10 pounds for 3 months - the 2 year old weighs a good deal more than that and hubby can only take 2 weeks of family leave.
Happy New Year swabbie and maybe we'll see you somewhere in the future. Good luck with the house sale. Love to you, Lynn and Theresa.
Sensational Saturday Vermont, Jim, Shawn, Roy and all the crew. Fortunately, this weekend will be rain and white sheet free, but it is in the low 30's in the day and 20's at night.
Shawn, If I had the freezer space I would have too that nontypical buck and had him burgered. I would have taken one of the big doe's for the other cuts!
When are you headed back north?
Roy, I don't have any interest in driving long distance anymore. After working the last 8 years before the first retirement and driving on a slow days 350 miles and on a normal day 500-600, I have no desire to drive more than 10 minutes! LOL

Plan now is to hea north on either Tuesday or Wednesday. Depends on how aggressive we are packing up the house and last minute cleaning. I'll load the camper tomorrow after church and start loading it with food and clothing and stuff to take home. Then it is just a matter of how efficient we are getting going.
I hope you get everything in order and can get on the road and not rush to get home.
My Thoughts and Prayers she recovers quickly and without problems and you and the Misses make a safe trip home!
