The Huskers got doubled up yesterday...the Chefs season is done...at least you guys have the Huskers Women's Volleyball Team to root for.

Got the garage/shop all done, Pat? One of my resolutions (for the last 10 years) is to clear out the garage so I can work on my 54 F100.

 

Happy New Year to all. Hopefully 2026 will be a great year for most. The Husker football team has a lot of work to do in the offseason. At least we did have that awesome volleyball team and the run they had and so far not that I watch them at all but the men’s and women’s basketball teams are doing well. I’m just preparing myself for another to back surgery to be scheduled now that the new year has arrived. I did get into the Nebraska spine center in Omaha a couple months ago and the doctor there seen a cyst on a vertebrae that my other doctor didn’t see and also said I will need a fusion of 4-5 vertebrae here shortly. He wants to go in and remove the cyst and see how I do with that then later fuse. I wish they would just get it all done at once and be done with it. I’m tired of being in pain. Good morning and happy new year to all of you!

I fell asleep on the couch well before midnight and was woke up about then by my wife. For the first time that I can remember, I woke up on New Year's Day not hungover. That's fine by me because I have too much to do anyway. The truck needs stuff fixed on it and my boy got sent home early from daycare yesterday because of a 102 degree fever. Turns out he's got influenza A. The house is a disaster zone from Christmas yet, too. Couple all of that with a spectacular Husker loss and alcohol didn't even sound good to me last night.

Long week in the truck and it was only 3 days. The coolant leak went away but still need to investigate it more. Shattered the same rear window out of it on Tuesday that I shattered back in November. Threw another rock right through it so I'm sporting my cardboard box again. Last night it developed an air leak that should be investigated too. It's been a while since it's been greased... So, the glass guy is coming tomorrow. I'll go get the truck today and get it ready for him and all the other things that need to be addressed on it too. I'm losing a day of billable labor already so I'll go buy a set of fenders and try to install them this weekend so it quits throwing rocks. The windows are $350 so I'll be at $700 in that plus the loss of income... Which on a good day can get into the 800-1200 range... makes a $350 window pretty expensive pretty quickly. The fenders are going to be in the $2,000 range. Ugh... it's going to be an expensive weekend!

Good morning guys, hope New Years was good for you! Yeah, the Huskers have a loooooong way to go. We'll see about men's basketball tonight, they are currently 13-0, but league play starts today, and that will tell us a lot about this team. Waiting for my nephew to get his butt over and finish the shop wiring, told him he has until Sunday, or I hire someone else. I need to get insulating so I can turn the floor heat on! Might be here all day and overnight tonight, we started at 4 am, and don't have a stop time, which means we run until at least midnight. And I'm on call starting at 7 this morning. Marvelous. Hopefully I have time to get the daughters car back together this weekend, so I can have my work car back.

 

Hopefully the back surgery goes well!!

Good morning and happy Sunday to everyone! My boy is over his flu but the girl had a 101.5 fever this morning. That's about how my day is going to go, I guess. At least the weather is going to be cooperative!
