Will a 1999 4.6 alternator from any model that has a 4.6 in 1999 bolt onto a 6.8 V-10 (give or take pulley size requiring a different belt) from any model that has a 6.8 in 1999?
Yes it will. They had two different alternators, a 95 amp and a 130 amp. If you get the same amperage, it should bolt right up. If you go up or down in amperage, not sure it will fit.
I have a 130a I plan on swapping in place of a 95a version…everything that matters looks the same. Not that there aren’t basket cases, but pulleys can be swapped.

I didn't know if one was externally larger than the other one. Either one was a option on both engines though, f150 up through f350 at least.
