My 2018 Lincoln Navigator Reserve Lincoln WELCOME was working but has stopped. The Key fob batteries are new. The System check shows WELCOME light and running boards are supposed to work when you walk up. But nothing happens now until you unlock the doors. What am I missing???
Yes, the light comes on and the running boards deploy and the door unlocks when you put your hand on the handle, just like it's supposed to. But I'm concerned that it may be the battery, doesn't have enough amps. It's showing 12.4 amps, but is that enough to make the system not want to shut down some of the peripheral electrical uses. You
So, it looks like the battery was putting out 12.4 volts, but when it's not putting out 12.6 volts, the computer decides to shut down some of the peripheral stuff. So, it was a sign that the battery was starting to have issues since it was at the end of its life. So, I put a brand new one in it and drove it over 10 miles and all of a sudden everything's working fine. So, that's what it was.
I’d recommend resetting the battery life in the BMS with the new battery. They are supposed to be able to update the battery status on their own, but I’ve had problems with it updating.
if you have a scan tool, I’d just recommend going in and setting the battery life to “new” or “100%”
