I'm still getting used to having a bright, shiny new truck. I upgraded from a 2008 Honda Pilot to my 2025 F150 and as I hand-washed it tonight, it really sank in just how much bigger this vehicle is than my previous one.
I live in Southwest Michigan and so far we've taken the truck up to Cheboygan and to Cadillac as part of our camping adventures. I'm very happy with the truck so far! Hopefully many more adventures await.
My wife and I downsized to this Flagstaff Classic trailer this year after multiple years owning 5th wheel bunkhouse RV's. Our kids reached the point where they told us they would likely not be camping with us anymore, so "go ahead and get what works for you". We enjoy using the Michigan state park system, but intend to make some longer trips starting next year after I retire.
The 1996 Dodge pickup has been in my family since my dad bought it used in the fall of 97. It's been a good tow vehicle for us, but when I we start taking longer adventures, it will be upgraded to something much more recent. At this point I'm leaning towards an F250 with the 7.3L engine, but that's not written in stone.
I also bring a fishing boat along on most vacations, so that task is assigned to my F150. My fishing boat is on the upgrade agenda as well, but probably not until I've secured a replacement for the Dodge.
Good looking set up! What part of southwest Michigan. I am in Wayland.
Few of us on here camp, we have a little group going next week to Traverse City. That may depend on what happens with the wife's appointment tomorrow for here eye.
We live in the suburbs of Borculo because we don't like living in the heart of the big city...
(For those who don't know the area, Borculo is a four-way stop north of Zeeland.)
Camping season is almost done for us. I'm going on a fishing trip with a buddy starting tomorrow where I will stay in a tent. In a couple weeks we are going near Cheboygan with another couple and there will be fishing involved there, too. After that, the camper will be put away for the winter.
I don't usually winterize until I leave for deer season....lol
Have two trips still on the books, might schedule a 3rd one to Frankenmuth early November to close out the season.
