I pulled codes for 2 bad wheel speed sensors, right front and left rear. I bought the Motocraft replacement parts and was installing the front earlier when I ran into an issue. The part was identical except for a slight difference on the sensor itself. The new one is the one on the right and is longer and will bottom out into the ring. This is very frustrating because I only saw one part # in the service manual and on Rock Auto (BRAB466). The part came in a sealed Motocraft bag. Has anyone seen this? I cleaned and put the old one back in but it still throws the code.
I discovered that the hub assemblies were changed out 3 years ago, probably with aftermarket parts, and these hubs include the sensors which are obviously different. So now I have mismatched parts.
