So I’ve recently bought an Arizona long unibody, it’s been in England for about 20 years I think and it’s been through many paint jobs, currently in GAP blue for a promotion with them. The last photo of it in America that I have is red and white, the vin has it as just white. The blue paint job is a bit rough around the edges so needs to go. So the question is what colour should this truck be next? Should it go back to the one of its many colours or should it go for an entirely new one? Many thanks, Ash GAP blue as it sits The bottom picture is it’s last known picture in America
I really don't have an opinion on color choice. I feel that's a personal choice thing.
I can tell you that the last two pictures don't look exactly how the factory did two tone paint.
I may yet paint my truck simply because it has almost none left. It was originally Ravin Black. Though I may do a semi flat black, like John Deere blitz black. To minimize body work (filler) needed.
AshleyT, first, welcome to the club of old truck owners!!! I myself am relatively new to the club and have a '66 F250 Camper special. I hope you will enjoy your truck as much as I do mine. The early Unibody trucks are one of my favorite and nothing beets the lines. The Custom Cab is a bonus, and from the looks, the old lad looks to be in pretty good shape.
There should be a build plate riveted to the glove box door, if you want to know more about how your truck as originally including the original color, this is a good place to start. I personally don't know that much about the unibody trucks other than being a fan, so I am sure someone with far more experience and knowledge will be able to jump in.
And please, post some more photo's. That and tell us where in England you are. While my truck is still in States, in the great state of Virginia, I am located in Germany so we are practically neighbours.
