Help me diagnose injector issues

2001 F350, everything stock but the turbo, 252k. Has been running good for a long time but recently if the fuel gets low it runs rough. After fueling up it will run rough for about 10 miles (no CEL), note to self, dont run it low. Besides that it has been running strong, some smoke on start up but nothing out of what I consider normal.

The other day Im driving down the road and the CEL kicks on and starts running rough. Basically running the same as when it got low on fuel. The truck made it about 1/2 mile and it stalled. Tried to restart with nothing, put cables on it and still nothing. Changed the CPS, and the fuel filter since it was due. Ran a buzz test on it and the IDM was not communicating with the injectors and was unable to run the test. Got a reman IDM from Chattanooga diesel, plugged it in and the truck fired right up no problem but is missing real bad. Ran a buzz test on it and got a P1272, P1276, P1278, and P1294. The UVCH looked a bit loose at one of the connectors so I replaced it to rule it out. Replaced the UVCH and nothing changed.

I am trying to rule everything out to know for certain it is the injectors.

Ohmed the new UVCH and the old one. Put it back together and its running great now. Strange how the UVCH went out followed immediately by the IDM. The old UVCH plug was full of oil.

Did you use Ford UVCH?
My truck was running bad and changed out the UVCH on both sides from 'Autooh Z'.(only parts store within 50 miles) Truck ran worse and had it towed to Diesel shop and told them what I had done and said I am not throwing more parts at it. Please find out what is wrong with it. Got called next day that the truck is done and running fine. what did they do? They put on under the valve cover gasket/harness from Ford. I was given back the old/new parts that i had just put on and was nicely told to never use(Dorman) after market electrical parts, as the trucks do not work well with them .

I used a Dorman harness.

Had to get it running and that’s what was available.

If you have a decent Ford dealer in your area, often any part Ford still sells that the dealer doesn't have in stock can be had in 1-2 days not counting Sunday if they order it for you and you pick it up from their parts counter when it comes in- they will just have your parts delivered with the parts they order from the distribution center for repairs they are doing, and you won't have to pay any shipping since the truck is coming anyway.

I haven’t but am thinking it wouldn’t be a bad idea. One of those things that’s easy to put off when it’s running good.
