Can I install a front passenger grab handle 2008 Escape XLT
My wife made a passing comment that she was surprised there was no grab handle in the 2008 Escape XLT (we do have them in our 2000 Expedition). I started researching this and found out that (POSSIBLY), the Escape has side airbags, so I cannot screw anything above the front door. On the other hand, i found what was advertised as a "A molded on-piece A-Pillar grab handle," but I cannot confirm it would fit the Escape. Has anyone done such a refit for their Escape?
The 2007 Mariner in my garage has a grab handle on the A-pillar mounted near the top. I *think* you could wander through a u-pull yard and find what you want. I also think it would would be a bolt-on option, but have not checked. Getting matching interior color would be a bonus.
I use it whenever I am not the driver.

Thanks! So I should pop the trim off and check for anchor points? Would trim from the Mariner fit the Escape?
They went down the same assembly line. I expect, with no guarantee, that there would be fasteners to mount the handle. I expect the trim would fit properly without modification. Could be wrong on all counts, but worth taking a look.
