Good morning all, another day at the office! Oh, and just as a bonus, the Fusion has a blown tire, big chunk of metal in it, so that tires junk. And the truck is in the shop. Marvelous.
George....Don't make me wash your mouth out with soap....
I’m back. What week and a half it’s been. Got called Friday a week ago that my sister was headed to the hospital late afternoon and she couldn’t get a hold of my wife to get my nephew. Next thing I know I got a call from my wife that she had the baby in a toilet at the hospital. She was nearly 3 months early so we had the nephew for the weekend.
That Sunday 10/11 calls us out if the blue and asks if they can come interview Jessica for the prom scholarship we do every year in memory of Norah. Shortly after my sister calls and says baby Elliot isn’t going to make it. We did the interview and headed to the hospital so Jessica and Clara Joy can meet Elliot and so the nephew can meet his brother. At the hospital we find a picture of Clara Joy on the wall to Elliot’s room from when she was in Nicu. The story aired and Elliot passed that Sunday evening.
On top of all that it was the 3 year anniversary of Norahs death and then her birthday the 31st so it’s always rougher here in January anyway. And I was in Dallas again all last week. Funeral is next Saturday so I figured I would still take the trip as a good distraction.
Thursday Jessica delivered over 300 individual items to the Foster care closet in Lincoln for our annually personal product drive in Norahs name. This is the 3rd year and we have over $700 in donations and shared their Amazon wish list. They had no idea we were bringing anything and surprised to see Amazon items coming in so that was cool.
My dad flys in later this week for the funeral. My sister and him don’t have a great relationship so that will be odd. Right now I think my sister is really only talking to my wife Jessica.
Today I was working on my oldest’s car and found he schmucked a curb or pot hole so bad the rim was destroyed which meant a trip to u pull it, then over to Utica for a tire machine and back home just to get him safe.
Hopefully we get more back to normal here soon. No putty please, just sharing our week.
Here is the news article. Jessica was a little disappointed that they didn’t emphasize we aren’t looking for donations. They cut out the part where we said we had to set it up because so many people asked us how to donate.
Wow, TC... That's a whole lot to have to deal with all in one weekend. I hope the turbulence calms down for your family and things can get back to normal. Hate to see it when everything hits all at once.
Thanks Pat. Yea I have no idea on my sister. She only really talks to my wife at this point even then its just short to the point or thank you. My sister and I don't necessarily see eye to eye anyway, but she's family.
I had to clean up the Buick last night so my Dad has a vehicle while he's back. I drive it every day and rarely vacuum it and wipe it down. I thought it was getting really bad but it was just cluttered up so that was easy. Sold a few more parts off of the parts truck. So far I've made half my money back and still have quite a few big ticket items that haven't sold. I can probably break even without selling my other pickup trailer. I didn't think that would happen.
Had some emergency nightwork last night that went kind of meh.... Looks like we're starting the day off here with a little drizzle. Thought it was supposed to miss Lincoln but here in extreme west Lincoln at my office it started already Maybe I'll get to test out the awd/4wd on the heep.
Good afternoon all, happy Thursday! Ice here yesterday was not fun. I have PTSD from breaking my ankle when it's icy!! Warming up now though, so that should melt off. Waiting for a few more goodies from Dennis Carpenter. That wish list is finally getting pretty short. Just some stuff that is on back order that I'm waiting for.
The ice here was weird yesterday. Not enough to make it dangerous but enough to **** you off. Between Milford and Seward the trees were all white but not at home or at the office...
Headed to Grand Island tonight to pick up my folks from the airport but only after cleaning toilets that I promised I'd do for my sick wife... YAY me!
