I just recently bought a 2019 Ranger Lariat. The aftermarket bumper was bent, so I ordered a replacement. My issue is, the factory receiver hitch on mine, is located exactly where the license plate is. The prior owner had a license plate frame that was on a hinge mounted to the top, so it could flip up when the hitch is installed. I have searched and searched, and I'm thinking that my receiver is higher than almost ALL other Rangers possibly? If I don't modify the receiver, or even completely replace it with an aftermarket, my receiver is going to stick straight out of the license plate by a couple inches. Not exactly optimal!
Where and what height are your factory receiver hitches on your Rangers? Thank you

Pic ??
sounds like you need to go back to a OEM Stock rear bumper.

Here's a pic with it removed. You can see how high up my receiver is. I am thinking mine is too high to work with ANY bumper pretty much! The aftermarket one that came on this, my plate covered it, and was mounted on a spring hinge. My plan is to remove the hitch, and install a different one.
This is not my truck, this is on a Maverick. But this is the same location that my receiver hitch is! Im thinking mine is NOT factory. I'm removing it completely, because its not going to work with any bumper I choose
That lil maverick is most likely a uni-body with no frame I’d bet.
Ranger has a frame & “should” have a 2” receiver hitch coming out under the rear bumper like all pickup trucks.
I’ve never seen one like you describe.
The picture above of my Ranger is basically the same as the Maverick location of the hitch. It's sorta tough to tell with the bumper off, but the receiver is at the height of the lower part of the license plate. Really a dumb spot to have it!
