About 25 years ago, I brought up a car from Northern Virginia. Was cleaning the leaves from around the cowl area and tossing them on the ground. Happen to notice this wiggly thing on the ground. Picked it up and brought it into the house and put it in an empty fish tank. Good thing it was cold outside because that snake got feisty. Lunged at wife when she got close to describe it to our daughter in GA. Anyway, it turned out to be a Copperhead. A little one but supposedly the venom is stronger.
Last Rattler I ran across was up in the Adirondacks.
We now are getting some rain.
wildlife agents all say the bite of a young pit viper is stronger due to them not being able to control the bite yet, i see timbers around the old house area often, biggest was about 6 feet long
