Hello guys. I have a 1992 F350 dually, 7.3 IDI, ZF5, 2WD that I am attempting to correct the previous owners's "spegetti mess", both under the dash and the rear tail light wiring harness. After removing the rear tail light harness to do some splicing work, I found these two plugs above and behind the left side of the rear bumper. I want to use them if possible. I belive (correct me if I'm wrong) these can connect directly to a RV blade 7 pin round trailer plug. I think that is what they are for. Also, under the dash, someone has done a trailer brake connection job that I want to get rid of and use the stock connector. I assume the stock connector is directly linked to the to plugs in the rear (3 pin and a 4 pin) set of plugs. I have a brake controller I can use with the stock plug under the dash. The two rear plugs (3 pin and 4 pin) look to be the only thing in the rear that are un-modified. Does anyone have a set of the 3 and 4 pin female connectors (that mate to these) that they want to sell or give away that I can use to splice my 7 pin RV connector to using the stock two plugs in the rear? Any recommendations? My goal is to use all of the stock plugs I can and get rid of all of the previous splice work! If nothing else, does anyone know where I can get the mating 3 and 4 pin connectors ffor thoes ones in the rear? Thanks guys!

Reason: added question
My plan was to avoid cutting off the stock connectors and splice in generic connectors like the ones I ordered. I still may order those Mustang ones. They were fairly common back in the day. Looks like they would work for both the 3 pin (gray) and the 4 pin (black).
The 3 pin housing is the same as the 4 pin housing but the "guts" are a bit different. The rubber seal only has 3 openings and IIRC the lock tab covers where the 4th pin would have been.
You might be able to track down a grey connector but I don't think it is worth the trouble.
On the new connector I just cut and sealed the unused wire.
Yup, I studied the pic of the EGR pigtail and these connectors and it looks like I'll have to cut down the lock tab on both of mine for them to physically fit, other than that, the pins look like they line up. I'll cap and tape up he extra wire on one of the EGR connectors. Might come in handy as a spare some day, but I say that about everything...LOL. Of course, I will clean these old dirty connectors and test them as well before I decide if I'm using the EGR pigtails or using the generic male/female matching kit. It's difficult to stay stock on our old trucks but I try.
You wouldn't happen to know a good crossover for the sqare 4 pin, male connector, would you? Need the female mate for it. It's the supplied stock brake controller connector, under the dash. Not many of the early OBS trucks came with that connector. If I could find a mate to that, before I go and butcher that up, I'd be super happy! This is that brake controller connector under the dash that I need a mate for:
I would cut the connectors at the rear since its been discontinued and is very very seldom used as you can see by the old old EGR connector being similar but not much else.i just cut mine and spliced directly to 5 functions for now. In the future im going to pull the harness up aenough to work sitting up, then im going to wire in a weather pack 8 pin or something and then on the univeral 7 way plug put a matching weather pack. if you are ambitious you could make it the universal plug type that is used by trucks these days so you can buy the drop in plug in harnesses from the stores in case you break yours
R&R Ford and AuroraGirl. Thanks for your suggestions. I ended up spending too much $ on this project and at the same time I kept changing my mind! First I already bought the Hopkins Towing Solutions Multi-Tow 4 Flat to 7 Blade and 4 Flat 47185 connector assembly (Ruaral King), Hopkins Towing Solutions 16 Gauge 4-Wire Bonded 25' – 49915 (Ruaral King). Then I ordered the

To say I spent too much would be an understatement, but I do have options!

Reason: spelling
The EGR connector is the correct part. There should not be any need to modify them other than not using the one wire.
The
So its the exact same connector type as one of these? because 4 different connectors are used, and its not the "one is male, one is female" to prevent incorrect install lol.
I believe the truck side is the right, the grey being the one with 4 functions on it, the black above is the 3
One set of grey and black is the vehicle side and the other was the sub harness for the receptacle. The connectors were identical on the other end where the accessory relays attached to the underhood harness. There is a male and female to each set. They made them black and grey because they could be interchanged and they were trying help us not screw up. Grey to grey. Black to black.
The OP still had the vehicle side connectors, so I provided the complimentary connector he could use to build a factory style sub harness.
The same connector shell or "sleeve" could and was used in a variety of configurations in various applications resulting in different part numbers for the same basic sleeve.
