Good evening all, New member to the AZ chapter!
My Name is Jacob, I recently acquired a 97' F250 from a neighbor for Christmas as a gift and it's in rough shape. Took some interest in the old truck when he said he doesn't drive it anymore. It's been sitting for sometime now without a PS window and collecting All the AZ weather and rodent life in the engine bay. Finally got the ole gal started and pulled into the yard! Looking forward to sharing the progress of the build/restoration with you all. I currently drive a fully built 2nd gen Tacoma with all the bells n whistles and am an active member of TacomaWorld! Looking to add another rabbit hole to dive into and learn a new truck with this F250. All the learning to acquire and service manual to study up on as this truck need some love. Hopping this community is a great as the Tacoma family I found on the TW forum. I'll have questions and pick your brains with diagnostic questions and experience I am soon to grasp! In return I hope to share the things I learn along the way and possible help out with knowledge I gain! Joining a few threads to find the right place to acquire such info, please feel free to add link in the descriptions to help narrow my search as I'm learning to navigate yet another forum! Thanks for your time, looking forward to meet with you all and chatting!
right on. Welcome to fte! There is most definitely some crazy knowledge in this place. It's helped me build a few trucks over the years. Myself, and everyone here is more than willing to help in anyway we can.not sure where you are in the state, but I am out in the middle of nowhere eagar/springerville if ya ever need a hand. Plenty of rabbit holes here as well. I've been up reding about 73 f100 electric systems, and hours later found myself reading about torque specs on a truck I don't even own.

Thanks, I'm in Apache Junction on the Eastside of town. I've just got into the truck and started the cleaning process and shopping the Part yards for odds and In to replace thing i can see have rotted away. Most of the vacuum lines are toast from the Az heat and already tossing the engine light to shine. At least the trucks is running
and driving for now. Made for a good start when we fired it up!
Shoot, that thing doesn't look as bad as I pictured. Love those early 90s trucks. I'd love some of that heat right now. Today is gonna be the warmest day of the next week @ 46°f. Tearing into a 390 right now, that's sitting in a shady spot, on 3 inches of ice/ melting snow. Then back to below freezing with snow forecasted all week . I am really starting to not like winter anymore!
That's the plan, Its only seen 167K all highway miles. Just wrapped up putting in the PS window and molding. Added sound deadening material to the door and fixed up the panel. Finally get to take the towel off the PS window and not worry about the stray cat getting into it.
Damn glass hadn't been cleaned in years! Scrapped off the old window tint (that was blurry purple)and thinking about what to do for an interior freshen up. Carpets **** and needs replaced, seats are decent but would hurt to put on some Carhart seat covers. I'll get some pics in the am, and share the new start! Been a late night per usual!

Ole man kept it in good shape the best he could. Not sure if he was the Og owner or not, I'll have to aske him. Minor blow out on PS rear but im not stranger to a little body work or finding a bed.. Just hate it won't color match and a paint job is Far away.. Need to get some vacuum line replaced and a few other little here n theres, but she runs so far and idles fine.
Made some progress on the interior! New carpet, cleaned up the dash and repainted some plastics. Also a few custom trim pieces I didn't wanna buy and made myself to cover the ash tray and dash trim.
