I am curious what your thoughts are about the Tesla Cybertruck (first customer deliveries start tomorrow November 30th). We should have the final specifications tomorrow and would love to hear from those of you who own trucks. Do you like it or hate it?
Let me know. I plan to feature some of your thoughts on my youtube channel (youtube.com/cleanerwatt).
Already have a California company offering a knock off truck with better range at a lower cost. AITEKX
Market is showing a depreciation value of 4% with each month of ownership, more on high end electric models. With Tesla lowering their price to sell vehicles, new owners were hit pretty hard on value.
My question is, is it really a truck? It'll pull as I just saw it pulling a Porche while racing a Porche. I know Tesla is attracting a fairly niche market who is willing to spend gobs of money on a vehicle that looks like an autobot. It will no doubt live up to Tesla's proven quality level, but a truck?
I don't think the Lightning is doing it better but at least it has a bed.
I think the design is intentionally extreme. We've seen these things all over the news etc. for years, while we still have to work hard to find a picture of a Rivian pickup.
It sure looks like a 1970's sci-fi design. I'll wait to pass judgement until I get a good look at one in real life.

I have seen my cat throw up something that looked better
I also dont know how they can call it a truck
And yes I have seen a few around the Raleigh NC area.
I have also seen a few Rivian pickups and would pick it over the Tesla any day.
It is going to take a lot for me to go electric.

We've seen one around town a few times.... Much bigger than I expected. Fugly as sin. Not my cup of tea. I bet the driver is impressed with themselves...
You've got to give them props for being different! They obviously wanted that and achieved their goal. The stainless construction is cool... flux capacitor anyone? Better wheel openings than the square Chevrolet / GMC - yes really! If I wanted an electric truck I'd still buy a Ford Lightning because Ford builds TRUCKS better than anyone IMO. I just don't think battery life is there yet. I am in a rural area and need 400 miles minimum, even in the dead of winter and it's 20F below. I put all that excess heat to good use in my gas powered vehicles.
From a design and engineering perspective it is a failure in every aspect. The suspension articulation is a fail from both on-road or an off-road perspective- simply not near enough.... even the Suzuki Samari pick-up had more articulation as well as the Subaru Brat. Driver blind spot galore. They have experienced MORE fires than the FOD PINTO per NTSB reports....... Safety issues galore- check to see if the door closure sensor will really stop from crushing your finger if you accidently leave it in the jamb area.... too many have reported this as well. The body panels are as crooked/wavy as you can get (probably the reason they don't paint them- they would have to use 5-gallons of bondo on them just to make them look straight....... Panel fitment is like- Yugo..... actually, the Yugo was better.
