2021 f350 drw 6.2 LACK OF POWER
Hi, we have a construction company consisting of multiple trucks f250s f350s etc. Diesels 7.3s 6.7s, 6.2 gas etc. We recently leased a f350 6.2l DRW FLATBED truck. Normally when loaded with tools weights around 12,000lbs. From day 1 this truck has had no power. To compare, we have a 2012 f250 6.2 and it will throw you back in the seat.
This thing struggles to maintain 20 to 30 mph on windy steep mountain roads. It's embarrassing that our old 2002 f250 7.3 diesel can outrun this truck. Something is not right. no engine codes etc. Any ideas? it is a Cab and chassis truck, do they detune these engines like the 6.7 diesels we have? As you can imagine hooking a trailer is even worse. It has decent power till about 3000rpm then just sucks, it also has the 10spd transmission and it holds gears as long as possible to about 6,000rpm then finally shifts.
Very disappointed as we were impressed with the 2012 6.2 towing trailers and liked the idea of getting away from all the emissions equipment like our 6.7s have.

Normally when loaded with tools weights around 12,000lbs. From day 1 this truck has had no power. To compare, we have a 2012 f250 6.2 and it will throw you back in the seat.

The left side of the chart got cut off but the top two are 6.2 liter, the second two lines are the 6.7 power stroke and the last two lines are the 7.3L Gas engine.
Not sure what axle you have 3.73 or 4.3, but according to Ford, towing 12k you are right at the maximum towing limit with the 3.73. Check the 2021 Ford Towing guide. I would have designated the 7.3L a minimum option for a 350 DRW. This doesn't mean it should be sluggish but its definitely close.
I would return it and trade it in for a 7.3 DRW or Diesel

Understood! Definitely an issue. If it's a lease ask for an exchange, something is wrong. The 6.2 is not the most powerful engine but still respectable and a very reliable engine, this is unusual.
