Just bought a 2000 F-250 Heavy Duty V10 from a guy. He told me when I fill up gas, when it kicks off to stop or it will overflow out from underneath truck. When I drove it back home from where we met, I stopped to get gas. Tank kicked off with only $43 showing. I was close to empty, knew that couldn't be right. Turned the key over, and the gas gauge wasn't showing close to Full. I attempted to put more in, but again the tank kicked off like it was Full. I manual squeezed more in and it did start overflowing from the bottom!!
Anyone know what the issue could possibly be? Gauge definitely isn't showing correctly for that tank to be kicking off at the pump and gas overflowing (from bottom). Also not sure why it's overflowing from the bottom of vehicle and not gas tank hole where the pump hose goes into.

This sounds like a classic case of poor tank venting, & suspect that at least 1 hose is kinked, softened & collapsed. Pretty common fault, actually. Damned ethanol, ya know.
