New CO FTE Member (72 F250)
Born and raised in Windsor, now living in Englewood, recently bought a 1972 F250 (4x2, 360FE) from the estate of a friend and neighbor who'd passed. It had sat unused since '07, and I knew he'd always aspired to get her back to her old glory. I want to think he's happy to know I'm working on making that a reality.
The last time I took on a project like this was rehabbing a $400 C10, my first vehicle in my teens over two decades ago, so my shade tree skills are rusty. That said, with about a week of work and a lot of reading on the FTE Bumpside forum here, I was happy to be able to get her up and running enough to get her 98% of the way to my house, then the rest of the way with a nudge from a friendly neighbors pickup (a truly perplexing issue at the moment, but later attributed to a faulty neutral safety switch, an image of me being a perplexed rookie hooking it up to batter charger trying to understand why it wouldn't start below).
Now I'm on to tackling a long laundry list of items to get her road worthy. I am grateful to have the local Colorado FTE community and collective knowledge of this forum here, and hoping to learn enough to be a good contributor down the road.
I would love to know if anyone knows of competent Front Range auto parts stores for classic cars as I've come quickly to understand that things as simple as finding bolts and studs for exhaust manifolds aren't as simple of a task as it was 20 years ago.
