So I stumbled across these last week and I'm trying to figure out if they're legit. The photo in the ad is obviously not a 7.3 powerstroke and the manufacturer listed is Mahle, but I have yet to find any cylinder heads made by Mahle let alone 7.3's. I also can't find any other distributor across the Googleverse that offers a brand new cylinder head. So my BS-o-meter is going off like I'm at a stock sale, but at the same time the ad itself doesn't have any of the red flags that give them away. Company info is listed and easy to find. It gives phone numbers as well as email addresses for contacts. The grammar is good and would guess the person who wrote it actually speaks the language. They require casting numbers and/or vin to verify the correct part. Even spelled out warranty information and free shipping. So what do y'all think, and has anyone done business with these folks before?
Without digging deep into that website, I can tell you that Mahle is/was a major manufacturer of aftermarket engine parts for the European market. I put many a Mahle engine part into VW engines that I would rebuild for customer's cars. Actually preferred them over the others because of superior workmanship and fitment. Now if they've seen a market opportunity in the 7.3, I'm not afraid of it, but also an aluminum cylinder head for the 7.3 is not a widely tested platform, LOL. I have no reason to believe it wouldn't work, but the head gaskets have to be modified and perhaps convert to TTY cylinder head bolts and then don't try and wring 500 HP out of the engine.
Bottom line, Mahle is a name that I used to trust for parts. Cannot speak for where they are at today, so take all of this with a grain of salt.
With that said, I found Mahle's online catalog, dug through it and found nothing even remotely resembling correct 7.3 parts. So this "reseller" will be having to deal with a lot of returns if they don't clear up a bunch of misinformation on thier website. https://web.tecalliance.net/mahle-catalog/en/home

I agree Mahle manufactures quality parts. I consider them as good as a factory Motorcraft part, and don't give it a second thought when buying and installing a part from them. The thing that gave me pause was that I have never heard of them making heads, and when I searched I couldn't find any heads for any engine that they do offer. Not under their own name at least.

Same here. I installed many a set of pistons and liners for VW type 1 and 4 engines, but never a cylinder head. It was either genuine VW or AMC on the heads. Never Mahle.

I fell for that for a couple of years, 3 decades ago now. Then decided that my money was going down a hole. They kept soliciting me forever after that until I retired. Snail mail, email, phone calls. Shut up already.

Well this is ironic, the BBB was supposed to be a kind of watchdog for shady business practices and here it turns out they're the kingpins.
