The plan is to modify the dump bed to a flatbed and add a gooseneck to the chassis. My thoughts are to clear off the side walls and repurpose the steel for skiting and some tool boxes hanging off the bed. The gooseneck will need to be directly on the frame. The dump scissor mounting point will decide if I can retain the dump function.
Currently, I'm working to inventory and identify everything on the truck. Brakes are number 1 on the list. The VIN says it should be a 272, but the carb is a four-bolt carter 2290, and I'm not sure if it has a loadomatic distributor. No widow makers and tires (9R22.5) are in good shape and have lots of tread.
Tri was a VA truck and mainly lived in CA, so very little rust. I may start a build thread once I have a solid plan.
Welcome to FTE! We need more pictures and yes, start a build thread with your work.
Here is a link to the free master parts catalog. It is very helpful: https://charpindustries.com/diagrams/
It comes in two pdf's one is pictures and the other is text for more part number info. The pdf's are just scanned images so you can't search, but once you get a feel for it you can find stuff pretty quickly.
