Things that GM and Ford (mostly GM) got wrong that Ram got right.
My old 2020 Sierra 2500 had an automatic parking brake if the truck was setting on a hill more than a few degrees. But, it was auto on, not auto off. As you never knew when the parking brake was on, you would start the truck and put it in gear only to be met with flashing lights on the dash and the truck refusing to go anywhere. You had to reach down to the lower dash near your left knee and pull the release handle.
My 2017 Escape had a manual-on electronic parking brake and automatic off. But, you had to put the car in gear AND step on the accelerator to disengage the brake.
My 2022 Ram has an auto-on AND auto-off parking brake. The parking brake engages as soon as you put the transmission in PARK and disengages as soon as you put the transmission in any gear. On/Off requires nothing from me, it is all automatic and I do not need to hit the gas (or diesel in my situation).
My 2020 Sierra had an assisted tailgate. But the tailgate assist only worked going down. No up assist whatsoever. The truck had one of the GM magic tailgates so loved by Walter the Cat and it was HEAVY.
My 2022 Ram has tailgate assist up and down.
BTW - My 2020 Sierra was a top-of-the-line Denali. Just about every option that you could get on a GM pickup in 2020. MSRP was pushing $80k. The stereo sounded lousy and had a speaker buzz. The stereo in my wife's 2020 EcoSport (MSRP $27k) has much better sound and does not buzz. Except for the leather seats in the Denali, my middle of the road 2020 Lone Star Ram 1500 (equivalent to a Ford XLT) has a far better quality interior than the Denali and it is even better than my 2017 Expedition King Ranch.
Ram identified years ago that the Detroit trucks were all similarly capable and the money was in features and comfort. They have regularly won the Ward's Best Interior awards, and even the base Tradesman can be "nicely equipped". Ford and GM are finally responding, especially since Detroit has collectively dropped cars (with very few exceptions) and an uncomfortable truck will not sell as well no matter how well it works.
