Seeking good reliable shop for diagnosis and possible studding in Denver
I am seeking a good reputable diesel shop in Denver metro area to diagnose possible head gasket issue, and if the head gasket is bad, to stud my 06 F350 6.0 Powerstroke with about 125K miles. I have read a lot about diagnosis and I might perform some diagnosis myself, but I want a shop that can confirm my findings, then perform the repairs if any repairs get serious. I don't use it for much other than pulling a 5th wheel trailer.
TIA for shop recommendations.
The only diesel shop I have any experience with is Branch Automotive. They did my emissions test and also cleaned out my fuel tank when I dropped something in there. They did a good job. There were a couple of diesel pickups being torn down when I was there.

Thanks Jim. I have used Branch quite a bit and I have lost faith in them for a number of reasons.
After advising them I suspected a bad turbo, they diagnosed injectors, and when the injectors didn't solve the issue, they finally diagnosed the turbo that I had correctly suspected initially.
An $861 alternator failed after 8 months and they wanted to charge me a diagnostic fee after they determined the alternator they sold and installed was defective.
One of the above mentioned injectors failed after 2 1/2 years and 30k miles. Of course, it only had a 2 year warranty.
Years ago, they claimed that they use all Ford parts and only Ford parts. Neither the alternator nor the injectors were Ford parts. When I questioned them on that, they sheepishly admitted that they only use Ford parts when they are the "best deal". I have come to believe that means the "best deal" for Branch Automotive.
As a baseline, I asked Branch for a estimate to stud the engine. Their quote was just south of $14,000. I think it is time to start putting someone else's kid through college.

I was surprised when their price to install fuel filters was just about the same price as the dealer.
Thanks for your post. Branch is very convenient to me and easier to schedule with than the dealer. But I'll keep in mind what you experienced. If you find someplace better, please let me know.
