Hey Guys, I've decided to swap a Coyote into my "56. Early planning stages. I'll need to update the chassis. Should I box the original or go all out with a whole new one? IFS, 4-bar rear w/ 9" Even if I keep the original frame I'll go with the IFS & 4-bar rear, I think I want to go with a non-elecrronic trans, so I can eliminate some wiring/control pac. Lot's of upgraded AOD's & 700r4's Available. From my research, so far, I know there's a whole lot of other stuff I'll need to consider and I'm really interested in hearing from anyone who has done this or others that have suggestions and advice. Thanks, Jay, in Prescott AZ
I believe a few guys here have done the Coyote Powertrain swap. There is a shop there in Arizona called Fat Fendered Garage that has done a few. That might be a "local" hands on see opportunity for you. Best wishes
Donald, would like to see pics of your swap. I know about Jason at Fat Fender and yes he's done several Coyote swaps and has lot's of video and some parts for the swap. I was looking for other than a shop for details and hands-on stuff.. Things that worked and might have done differently. Recommendations etc.. What chassis do you have under your F-100, IFS ? Rear suspension? Did you do the work yourself? Thanks, Jay

I have NOT done this swap. I was just saying Fatfender Garage could be someplace in person that could help. I have a friend in Alabama who did the COYOTE swap in a Panel. It came out nice. Sorry if I gave you the wrong impression.

That is a Nice Motor so I assume you have a pretty Large Budget. If you do then I suggest you go with a whole new frame with all the goodies already on it. That will be the absolute best IMO. If you do not have that Budget then most like to Graft the Mustang 2 in their trucks and use a 31 Spline 9" Rear. In this case I suggest you Box your Frame with 3/16" Plate.
Hey Jay,
I am in the middle of doing my 54 on a Roadster Shop Chassis with coil overs, a Gen lll Coyote and 10 speed automatic. My cab is ready to paint, We are going to build the bed box this week ( I hope), I just got my new Radiator, I went with a Cold Case Coyote Swap radiator with their 16" Electric Fan setup. I have the motor and transmission in the chassis and the exhaust system is completed using Stainless Brothers bends, pipe, high flow cats and polished mufflers, Ultimate Stainless Headers, Kwik wire chassis harness, Wilwood Brakes. PM me if you want any pictures
Nick

Hey Nick, sounds very much like what I had in mind. Does that chassis require bed mods? Raised bed?I I would really appreciate any photos you have of your build, especially the engine/trans. set-up. Did the engine placement require firewall setback? How about the trans tunnel?
