Hello everyone, I finally got the ‘56 back from
bodywork and working on the powertrain, the truck has a TCI power rack and pinion, I was wondering if anybody has this set up and if they should happen to remember what hoses they used from the rack to the GM old-style power steering pump, I was just wondering if anybody else ever ran into this? Thanks
I don't have the information you are asking for but you can make your own hoses easily. Hunt down a hot rod parts supplier or a shop that sells hydraulic fittings. You can buy the adapters, fittings and high pressure hose. Use steel fittings for the pressure side and you can use aluminum A/N fittings for the return side. I made my own p/s hoses and they work great. Hope this helps.

I actually took the rack back off and took
it to a place near me that does hoses and fittings and the guy was baffled because it calls for 2 different type and size fittings, I went onto TCI’s site and see they sell a hose kit so I left a message on their tech line so hopefully they call me back tomorrow, getting close to start it finally, next is the radiator I need to order one for the 351 that has the lower hose on the passenger side, thanks again Pet

The tech from TCI called me yesterday and gave me the part number for unisteer fittings I need to order from any speed shop, very helpful and made some suggestions on how to measure hoses along with how the fittings should be positioned before getting real ones made up, now I need to find a radiator that has the lower hose on passenger side and fits into the stock radiator support along with an electric fan, thanks for the info, Pete
