Greetings, been a member on the F150 forum, but just got a 2015 F250 6.2 FX4 and so far am loving it. Over here seems a bit more active on the Super Duty front.
One issue I have is putting gas in it, nearly impossible at the pumps. Takes 2 minutes a gallon or depending on the pump longer.
The selling Ford dealership has had it back once and replaced the Fuel filler neck, I didn’t think it was the issue and if it was disconnecting it and blowing air through the lines should have resolved it. Needless to say I was correct and the issue persists.
I asked about the charcoal canister, if they had disconnected it and cleaned it and or the lines and was assured they tried that first. Of course they lied about trying to source the fuel filler neck locally and insisted there wasn’t one, but having worked on my F150 I rang up a different Ford parts department and located one nearby. Needless to say I don’t trust them.
I sourced a new OEM charcoal canister from Rockauto for $105 and will install it when it comes in. I’m familiar with the TSB regarding it and the vent up to 2012 models.
What I am unclear about is which line I can safely blow air through off the canister. I believe I will see 3 tube connections, one off the solenoid and 2 off the canister.
It only takes a few PSI of air to damage the evap control solenoids. Don't blow compressed air through them unless you disconnect each side of the evap hose.
It's the charcoal canister and/or the vent valve on the canister. My 2013 did the exact same thing, I replaced the canister (which comes with a new vent valve) and then went from a 20 minute trickle affair to being able to fill it at full speed again. All Fords seem to be succeptible to clogging up the charcoal canister if you continue to squeeze more gas in to top them off once the pump clicks. The gas gets into the charcoal and they clog, then the result is what you have now, it takes forever to fill because the tank won't vent. Now, I stop when the pump clicks off and don't even attempt to squeeze more in.
$100 part, takes 20 minutes or so to replace in your driveway.....most of that time is spent getting the spare down and out of the way because inevitably you will need to look for the "key" to drop the spare.

Excellent input. I did think both ends needed to be disconnected so I didn’t just push possible build up further up the line and into other parts.

Awesome input. I am hopeful it’s just the canister. The tsb on earlier years were using the same part number as my 2015 so it makes sense it would still be an issue.
I’m out of Oregon so generally we don’t pump our own gas, except with bikes or diesel. I’ve been pumping my own with this truck just because the gas attendant needs to tend to others. On a rare occasion you get an attendant who tries to top off, so I’ll definitely keep an eye.
This has made it sound promising at least. Will update this once it’s replaced.
I have a 2012 and run it until I'm on fumes. I then refill it until I can't stuff anymore in it. It has 185K on it, 150K of them by me. I've done this with every vehicle I've owned, including a 2008 SD 5.4 before this one. I've never had this issue, or a fuel pump issue. I'm not saying my tactics couldn't have an effect, but I think the claims are grossly exaggerated.

I’ve read both things. Over filling and or just crud getting down in the tube that is stuffed in the chassis. Looking forward to mine arriving, for it to be fixed and to fix what the selling dealer couldn’t.
Fixed! I replaced the charcoal canister. Took 2 hours, in my dirt gravel driveway from the time I started laying cardboard and grabbing tools to putting everything away, showering and running to the gas station.
Trying to get the selling dealership to cut me a check for the $106 part before I review them and put them on blast on the forums. What a **** show.
Did want to add in case I didn’t up there, that I found the TSB for this problem that included up to 2012-2013 models (can’t remember which) and when I looked at the part numbers they are the same for later models. Foolish of me to think they would have corrected the problem.
Thanks for all the input.

Thanks to the OP for the write up on this. I didn't realize this is a somewhat common issue. Ironically my truck just had the same symptoms. Local dealer looks like they have it in stock but at $170.00 plus tax. I might have to order one online and get it a few days later. Doesn't look too hard to replace either.

My local dealer could get one for $180 ish, but $100 was better sounding if I wasn’t getting reimbursed. Shipping wasn’t terrible, took maybe a week from the time I ordered it.
I will say, i found it easier to remove the old one by detaching it from the metal plate it’s on (2 bolts up front and two in back) then detaching the metal plate from the truck. I reinstalled the new one the same way. I had trouble getting the part back up with the metal backing already attached. Also gave me more room to remove the hoses.

Purchased a new canister assy from RockAuto this morning. FoMoCo OEM part for quite a bit less than the dealer even the other dealers like Tasca parts or White Bear Lake Ford. $110 with the shipping and tax will be here on Tuesday. Works for me. I will keep your input around for when I change mine out. I figure I will have to deal with at least one more fueling on the truck.
Part came yesterday but didn't get a chance to install. Installed this afternoon. During install, vent tube had seeds in it. The section it connected in, had more seeds and I think it might have had a carcass in it. I used the vacuum to suck out the rest of the seeds. I was not going to blow it out since I didn't know where the other end went to. Later this evening, I was finally able to break away to see if the tank would take gas and it did. It's nice to stumble upon a thread that is recent with problem. Worked like a charm.
